Spending time with yourself is important for your personal development. I feel that most of us don’t spend time within our own company – or perhaps we do, but we don’t actually enjoy our own company. Whilst spending the day in bed and watching Netflix can be ideal, there are so many other things we can do with ourselves.
So here’s list of 11 dates you should take yourself out on.
Go to the Movies – By YOURSELF
I’ve always wanted to do, but I’ve always be scared for some reason. Perhaps I don’t want people to view me as a loner, but there’s something about heading to the movies by yourself. You can have your snacks all to yourself and you certainly don’t have to worry about spoilers. All you have to do is enjoy yourself and the movie.
Head to a Buffet
It doesn’t have to be expensive – there are many inexpensive buffets around (depending on where you live of course). When it comes to buffets, it’s best to make sure that your hunger is at climax, that way you take advantage of this all-you-can-eat system.
Spend a night at a nice hotel
I love spending time in hotels, but the only time I get to do this is when I’m on holiday with family members. I’m yet to spend a night by myself, but it’s definitely on my bucket list of ‘things to do’. Although spending a night in a hotel may seem weird, it’ll feel good, trust me. Take advantage of the bar, pool, gym and room service – you’ll thank me later.
Self-wine and dine
Grab yourself a bottle of wine and prepare your own meal – why not prepare your own dessert too?
Netflix and Chill – by yourself
We all know what ‘Netflix and Chill’ is associated with ‘sexy time’, but binging on Netflix is bliss. Select what you want to watch without fighting over the remote control.
Take a trip down memory lane
Something I like doing by myself is looking at old childhood photos or videos from school and having a good hearty laugh. You can do this too, or you can spend your time watching old childhood TV programmes, either way, it’s a good way to reflect and spend time with yourself.
Have an Art date
If you like drawing or colouring or creating in general then this will be great. Get your art equipment out or if you don’t have any take a trip down to the store and purchase some!
Have a bubble bath
Bubble baths are life – to make your bubble bath experience more lively add a bath bomb. In addition to adding bath bombs, you can also add some candles and salts.
Go out for a drink
Going out for a drink by yourself can be super weird, but it’s worth trying. Of course make sure you have a way to get home.
Get your body moving
I love heading to the Gym, it provides me with endorphins that make me happy. If you’re not a fan of the gym there are plenty of videos on YouTube you can do. So you can still work out and feel good.
Take a walk
Taking a walk is so relaxing. You can take in the trees and the surrounds without any pressure.
