Meet the Founder of Half Full Not Empty whose raising mental health awareness

Meet the founder of Half Full Not Empty, Juanita, and where she plans to take her social enterprise that is based on mental health and help young people live a mentally healthy lifestyle. Half Full Not Empty will also be re-launching on the 6th of January, so keep your eyes peeled!

What is Half Full Not Empty all about?

Half Full Not Empty is a social enterprise that encourages young people; ages 16-24, to instill methods that will equip them to live a mentally healthy lifestyle. We believe that if young people build emotional resilience from the start of their adult journey they will be more equipped to handle difficult situations and confident enough to ask for help when they need it.

We are re-branding on the 6th of January to clearly showcase everything we have to offer!

Why did you start HFNE?

The main reason I started HFNE was because I struggled with opening up with and handling my feelings from a very young age, however especially during the time I was at university. Instead of asking others for help I would google how I was feeling and soon discovered that many other people struggled just as I did – just nobody spoke about it. That is when I started HFNE, initially to just raise awareness of the importance of taking care of your mental health.

What do you aim to accomplish with HFNE?

Ultimately I hope to accomplish a reduction in suicide rates and mental health challenges within young people. I want young people to be able to build confidence, resilience, and thrill to succeed because of HFNE and our programmes.

In five years time, HFNE will be a firmly established program within universities, sixth forms/colleges & youth clubs in the U.K. Our app will be launch and will be expanding our reach internationally. In addition, we would have had a successfully launched our secret project I am currently working on.
